James A. Moore

Jim has been a partner at a global financial firm, built and ran international operations at a technology company, and founded his own merchant bank that specialized in cross-border financing. He was a partner at Alex Brown & Sons. Following its acquisition by a large European bank, he served as managing director of global technology research. He was a strategic participant in the growth and private/public financing of such firms as WebEx, Mercury Interactive, Business Objects, BEA Systems, Navision, Survey Monkey and Tibco. He has served as CEO, operations head, investor, equity analyst, and advisor setting strategy for every phase of the business life cycle, from start-up to established public company.

He has worked in several regions around the world, including Europe, Asia, Middle East, and Latin America. Outside of work, for the last 19 years he has been involved in land conservation and sustainable agriculture on a large property where he focused on creating a model operation that is both viable and uses the highest tewardship and environmental practices.

Jim is on the board of the U.S. Ski Mountaineering Association and the U.S. representative to the International Ski Mountaineering Federation Council. He served as the board chair of the YMCA where he was selected Volunteer of the Year. He served on the board of the Burridge Center for Finance at the University of Colorado and as a lecturer at the Haas School of Business at U.C. Berkeley. He holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Colorado and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School where he served as a lecturer and entrepreneur-in-residence.
