Samara Dun
VP of Development, Communications and Marketing
Samara Dun joined World Affairs in 2021 and brings a twenty-year track record of success and leadership in nonprofit development and communications to her role as Vice President of Development, Communications & Marketing. Samara has worked in a variety of capacities, including as Director of Development for Ploughshares Fund and Chief Development Officer at Larkin Street Youth Services. Prior to joining World Affairs, she served as a Senior Foundations Officer at Environmental Defense Fund where she worked with scientists, economists, and lawyers to develop ambitious climate initiatives in collaboration with leading foundations. Samara has a BA in Anthropology from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
A self-proclaimed ‘Model UN nerd’, Samara is inspired by people’s passion and ability to create positive change and find solutions to the most daunting global challenges. When not working, you will find her cycling the streets of San Francisco and trails of North Bay peaks, and volunteering (she serves on the board of a small nonprofit providing direct assistance to low-income seniors).
