Join the Napa Valley Chapter at the Yountville Community Center for a unique and informative event featuring the Oceanic Society’s “Blue Habits Ambassador” Sabine Hirsohn of Napa, who will share her amazing round-the-world voyage in a 65-foot sloop. You’ll learn about the exotic ports-of-call she visited to promote programs on marine conservation and the hidden world of ocean pollution, including school visits, cultural exchanges and eye clinics in remote villages.
The protection of marine life and the pressing issue of plastic pollution illustrates the impact of modern waste reaching even the remotest, pristine corners of the ocean. Oceanic Society leaders will be on hand, along with diplomats from Ports-of-Call island countries on her route, including Mauritius and Fiji.
Admission includes Napa Valley fine wine and light bites, the lively community Q&A forum, and Community Connection: a chance to mingle with other attendees, meet the intrepid world sailor, visiting diplomats and the Oceanic Society leadership spearheading the Blue Habits program.
