Policies meant to control the spread of COVID-19 during the height of the pandemic devastated the economy and student learning, and they resulted in mental health and substance abuse problems, domestic violence and the discontinuation of treatment for other health conditions. Many say these policies hurt disadvantaged populations the most.
UCSF’s Dr. Monica Gandhi will review the history of COVID-19 and different responses to the pandemic around the world. She will explain how to better manage pandemics in the future.
